They have great sound and quality, comfortable ear pads and strong cable protection that really lasts, something I've found on many high-end headphones have not seen . But they do NOT reduce the noise level. 94 dB is a CONCERT VOLUME (!) and according to medical and technical recommendations (an example below) can be heard for about an hour without risk of hearing damage. Most children don't care about their hearing and want to leave their games and music on and you can't keep the volume down 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 85 dB when sold as volume limiters for children. dB 3.99 Pa 3.75 minutes (< 4 min) 103 dB 2.83 Pa 7.5 minutes 100 dB 2.00 Pa 15 minutes 97 dB 1.42 Pa 30 minutes 94 dB - - - - - - - - - - - 1.00 Pa - - - - - - 1 hour - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 91 dB 0.71 Pa 2 hours 88 dB 0.50 Pa 4 hours 85 dB 0.36 Pa 8 hours 82dB 0.25 Pa 16 hours
