When I first received these belts they had a musty smell like they had been stored in a damp basement. I hung them up for a few days thinking airing them out would get rid of the smell. It's not like this. I hand washed them well and got rid of most of the smell. Airing the room out eventually got rid of the odor. These belts really eliminate the front buckle bulge that looks so awful under the top blouse. But since my trousers are different depending on the position of the waistband, sometimes higher, sometimes lower, these straps have to be adjusted differently for each pair of trousers and are too difficult to adjust when wearing them. So I have to put it on, determine how much longer or shorter the strap should be, then take it out of the belt loops, adjust and put it back on. If you only have one pair of pants that you want to wear with every belt, you're in good shape. Once the length is right, they work very well.
