First of all, this digital scale is really nice, slim and has a low profile. Requires two AAA batteries, which are included with the scale. I like this because I almost always have AA batteries at home just in case it's time to change them. This scale is permanent and weighs our daughter the same as she did when she recently visited the doctor. She has a hard time eating and is working hard to gain some weight (not fair) and it will help her achieve her goals. Very happy with this scale. A good product.
