Ignore you negative feedback this bag! I almost didn't buy it and I would buy one that I don't like as much as this backpack. In fact my daughter who is 50 years old came and saw it on the table, fell in love with it and wants one for herself and she is very picky about everything she buys. She is an interior decorator, designer and has a very classic taste; So if she likes it, I know I made a good choice! This bag is well made and if there were problems with it early on they should have fixed it. I actually looked inside the bag looking for the areas mentioned in the negative reviews and found (yes I can see that if the buckles were loosened they could get lost. So I just used strong button thread and each buckle fastened, 5 total per bag : the only way they fall off is if I cut them THIS WILL BE MY ONLY COMPLAINT THAT IF THE MANUFACTURER FIXES THIS IT WOULD BE A REALLY GREAT SELLER! because nobody made a new one want to buy item and need it repaired Otherwise this is a wonderful bag! I spent weeks searching the web for the most attractive backpack, but one that is well made and has plenty of internal and external pockets. Even though it is a men's bag, I needed and wanted it have more than the usual women's styles. I'm 71 but very active! 5'3", 125 lbs, looks just perfect for the trips I take Cosmetics etc. Luggage is lost or arrives late I have everything I need until my luggage arrives. I also take a backpack with my son and family to one of the few private campgrounds and this bag has everything I need - clothes and snacks for a few days. (NO FOOD - WE SHIP FOOD AND WATER) Three external pockets make it easy to quickly access things - camera, sunglasses, phone; or what you want quick access to. You are beautiful and tall! The fabric is very durable and of good quality but not heavy. The lining is very nice with a zipped picket fence and a pocket behind the zip and two in front for a wallet and cell phone. plus a zipper on the opposite side with room for my 15" Mac with an elastic velcro to keep it in place. I have to use my own padded case to protect it; But now it's easier to just put it in your pocket and use the pocket for other items. If you use a case I have to put a case to put the mac in my bag and it fits tight on the sleeve but I'm getting a new 13 inch computer and it's going to be just perfect. I don't mind not having it in my bag because when I arrive at my destination I don't always carry my computer around so it makes room for other things I will be using there such as swimming and snorkeling, food. and water. I will spray the bag with a water repellent to make it easier to wipe away stains if they get onto something I can scrub off but there will be plenty of hay and it will age gracefully like me! HAPPY TOURIST! Again, I would have given 5 stars if I didn't need to fix the buckle, but for me it was worth it because I love everything else about it!
