So, in my area, a family had a cat and they haven't seen him. I just got a new cat and I'm getting nervous. I was afraid my sweet boy would drop out and I would have to go through what that other family was... I was planning on chipping him anyway but I mistakenly thought it was GPS service too. Well, realizing the chip might be just a little useful, I decided to buy an AirTag (the Apple version of the tile...or find my phone). As I wanted the air tag to be for my cat I bought a sleeve that could hold the air tag and be woven into his collar. It's not fail-safe because if the AirTag is out of Bluetooth range, you can't just call and find it. However, if you mark him/your precious cat as lost on the way. The Find My Phone app allows anyone to receive a signal while the app is open, as long as they are in range of your furry friend. While tiles can do this too: they haven't made a device that fits comfortably on top of a pet... As an aside, I've been using tiles for a number of years. Based on my experience with AirTag, I plan to switch as soon as my tiles fail.
