Review on πŸ–¨οΈ High-Performance Printer Auto Leveling with TMC2209 Powerful Motherboard by Todd Phillips

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exceptional printer - probably the best entry-level offering on the market

I just finished a series of 11 videos about calibrating and tuning this little gem from Eryone. The printer was designed from the ground up for beginners and hobbyists, making it incredibly easy to set up for your first print. I'm not kidding, it takes about 15 minutes to do power on tests etc. I said in the title of the review that this might be the best value for money to get into the world of 3D printing right now. Given that Eryone almost always has a sale, for about $250 you can get an all-metal extruder assembly, TMC 2209 drivers, a 32-bit motherboard (with released firmware, the 5x5 platform alignment points, line- Advance capability and a standard includes connector variations), scratch resistance. Glass bed and automatic bed leveling. Perhaps the only Gucci thing this printer doesn't have is the direct-drive extruder. Just try to find something under $250 with these options. It does not exist. I squeezed this printer out in a week of calibration and setup, and it's been printing almost 24/7 since. I'm still perfecting my profile but here are the settings I've settled on now: Esteps - calibrated to exactly 100 (never happened to me) Retract - 4.25mm at 50mm/s (linear feed *not included ) ) Acceleration - 600mm/s for print and move, 1100 for retract speed Coupling Deviation - 0.09 So far I have been very impressed with almost every aspect of the printer. One of its best features is how small the entire block is. Its incredibly small footprint makes it easy to fit into almost any environment - it's like a "road laptop" of a 3D printer. Nothing is perfect and I have a few flaws. The standard spool pin has a lever that is too short. Most coils will almost rub against the frame. This is easy to fix with a printed filament holder upgrade, but should actually be fixed from the factory. The incredibly small footprint I just mentioned is a plus; However, this also means that elements such as the Z-axis steppers are encased within the printer's body/chassis. This means that some adjustments or corrections might require a deeper investigation of the inside of the device (compared to printers where everything is open). The Y-axis, when the machine "returns to its original position", moves too fast and about to the backstop, causing the whole printer to judder a bit. anyone with a passion for hobbies, as well as those power users who want a smaller fire-and-forget printer that fits in a small workspace. I had an explosive setup and calibration of mine. I look forward to many years of printing with him in the future.

Pros
  • Easy to use: automatic platform leveling ensures a perfect first layer and the ink cover glass makes it easy to stick and remove printed objects.
Cons
  • weak
