Review on πŸ”˜ CORKERY Cork and Rubber Turntable Platter Mat - 1.8" - Premium Audiophile Slipmat by Leroy Stanton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

but it also doesn't add noise to the recording like felt

It's well done. The mixture of cork and rubber gives it a unique look. It had a very slight crease when it was unpacked, so I placed it on the turntable with the curve of the crease (middle, near the spindle) facing up. Then I put a 180 gram record on top and put a BigBen weight on top. It flattened immediately and has stayed flat ever since. It attracts far less dirt and dust than Audio Technica's standard felt mat, is easier to dust off, and doesn't seem to add nearly as much static electricity as felt. Those who complain that it doesn't reduce static electricity are missing the point - it doesn't actually remove much static electricity from the record, but it doesn't add it to the record like Felt does.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • For retirees
