Nice rug but the design is what you pay $40 for. It's even lighter than it looks, so let's see how quickly it gets dirty. Also, the one I received was slightly chipped or badly formed at a tiny part of a corner, but I can deal with that. The main downside is that this mat doesn't have a rubber (or other) backing to protect against excess moisture. Many coir rugs, which cost a lot less, have some sort of protective backing. So it was a disappointment and a surprise. I'm glad I haven't thrown away my old, slightly torn mat yet because it has a rubber backing and I'm using it under this new mat now. We just have to remember that our mat is quite high so we don't trip!
