Review on Color Changing Deionization Resin for Aquatic Life Mixed Bed by Laurie Thomas

Revainrating 5 out of 5

So far, so good. for aquarium pumps and filters

Last 5lb bag of resin I bought from another company and it looks like the resin has gone bad after 8 months of storage. That's fine, it got my 15 TDS water down to zero with no issues, and so far the canister has been pretty slow to use up. Just a warning, packages of these things never close properly once opened. That killed my last bag. Once the anions and cations in the resin are exposed to moisture for any length of time, they simply stop working. So my advice is to buy a good quality reusable vacuum bag, put a resin bag inside and use a vacuum to remove the air. If you have a lot of shelf space, you can buy a tightly sealed, airtight jar and pour it in. Just don't rely on the zip that comes with these 5 pound bags.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Doubtful
