Difficult to install next to joists

I didn't like using this case. There were some good design cues, but there's room for improvement. The instructions recommend cutting a 4Β½" diameter hole in the ceiling for a 4" closet, but the helpful adhesive template provided is 4ΒΌ" in diameter. I tried making test holes in both sizes. in a spare piece of ceiling tile and found 4Β½ inches to be too big and I'm glad I found it out before it was too late. The 4ΒΌ" diameter is Goldilocks size. If you're installing a 4" lamp and housing, you're not replacing a 6" recessed lamp, and there's a good chance you're replacing an old corded light like I did. into a 3.5" diameter metal box that is itself connected to the ceiling joist. If you remove that box and make that 4ΒΌ" hole, it means you're pushing right into the joist, which isn't a good situation for a Sunco Remodel can is. square, they are offset rather at right angles to each other but the teeth do not seat because they are so wide and protrude beyond the can to meet the jet. The teeth have a rubber tape on the inner surface. with a spray can , but neither the purpose, nor whether the protective film needs to be removed, is explained in the instructions, nor are the extra pieces of rubber band included in the packaging, I suspect that this has something to do with the description of the Air Ti ght products " but I found the locking teeth fit much better without the elastic. I don't know if I broke the electrical code by removing it, but it still fell apart after trying to reattach the prongs. close beam. iption is "the safest LED case for your home and family" and "AIRTIGHT AND ISIS EFFICIENT: Provides protection against overheating and fires caused by hot lighting fixtures." The other is for safety for hot devices like halogen, think I. 4 prongs don't work well with bulbs like the 4" Hyperikon LED Dome Light I bought which has 3 prongs; one bit always seems to get in the way of the others. Electrical connections are made in an electrical box that is attached to the outside the can is attached to a lever. That arm I think is longer than necessary. When designing a renovation product you can't assume that the existing wiring can reach distant areas. what about the lamp.
