I like a short leash for walking around town, but when my dog needs a potty break he always finds it a bit awkward walking on a three foot leash. Or sometimes I just want to give her some space when we're out of town. This leash is perfect as I mostly run it short but I can detach and use the full length. I feel comfortable in my hand. And it dries quickly, which is important because I live in rainy Washington DC. Also, I run it year round and let it hang outside on the porch and the colors are still beautiful and vibrant.
