Review on External Hard Drive Case by Randy Holt

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Meat for some, poison for another:

This is exactly what I need to house multiple 3.5" WD Blue or Black (bare) SATA drives in anti-static bags. They are backup copies and are stored in a locker and/or a locker where space is limited, the thinner the better by placing the discs (in bags) between a pair of trimmed polymer binder covers by placing the PCB sides for driving inside they offered all the protection I need for storage on top of the stack in the above situations without adding unwanted bulk. The orange color of the yum yum life jacket immediately reminds me to store fragile/valuable cargo when packing or opening of boxes. One gripe is that they don't have a hard case and therefore not solid protection for on the go, IMHO fair enough. If I need a shockproof, dust tight and waterproof protection for a portable HD, the Pelican polycarbonate case is an affordable route I'm going to take. (I use transparent op 1040 for my phone on the water.)

Pros
  • Rugged construction
Cons
  • Non-Automatic
