I can't believe how effective this is is low light is. In the last few days, when I went down to the basement after work, I smelled strongly of cat urine. We just had new carpet in the basement and it's very light so I figured I could easily find any accidents. I crawled across the carpet inch by inch on my hands and knees, feeling for wet spots and sniffing like a dog. I just couldn't find the source of the smell, but desperately tried to find and remove it before the cat got used to being tagged. So I ordered this lamp and it arrived the very next day. I put in three AAA batteries (not included) and ran downstairs to check them out. I turned off all the lights and began meticulously examining the carpet strips in the far corner of the room. Walking through two rooms I still couldn't find anything and started to believe that this light wasn't working. Then, as I shone the light on my basement door, I saw it - two small fluorescent green dots on the carpet right next to the door! Completely invisible with the light on, but unmissable with this light! I vigorously wiped the stains away, let them dry, checked the light again and they were gone. Without this light I would never have spotted this cat pee so it was worth every penny. It's also fun to go through your whole house and see what else you can find, like the occasional dirty dog footprint or whatever else I've stepped on. I'm a little afraid of bringing this into hotel rooms! does not work on cat hairballs. As the name of the product suggests, it is a urine finder that finds urine flawlessly even after several days.
