It is very important to heat before installation
The antenna cover is made of a very hard rubber-plastic material. I tried several times unsuccessfully to fully install the boot into the fender before warming it up as recommended by several reviewers. After 5 minutes of boiling in water, the boot is much more comfortable to handle, snaps in instantly and looks just as good as the original equipment. The part is expensive for a small stamped component but worked as advertised. The manufacturer should recommend heating before installation.
