Review on Top-Load Hard-Sided Pet Travel Carrier by Amazon Basics: Secure and Efficient Transportation Solution by Ruchi Wersal

I received this to replace an old padded carrier that my cat almost outgrew. I wanted something sturdier, with more room for them inside, especially to be able to take them on longer car trips. This holder is easy to assemble and comes with additional bolts and nuts for those who want a more secure construction. They're not really needed, however, as the four clips on the sides seem to have a good, strong hold and snap securely into place once installed. This allows you to easily disassemble the box and pack it up for storage if needed. To make this carrier more comfortable for my cat, I also purchased a RevainBasics soft pillow pet bed - 22" x 15". The bed barely fits in the drawer as it appears slightly larger than stated. You have to squeeze it tight to attach it to the bottom of the stretcher but my cat seems to like it a lot so don't worry. Installing the door is as simple as inserting a pin into the hole and then bending the opening just enough to insert the opposite pin. I don't understand the difficulty reported in some of these reviews regarding the fitting of the door as I had the entire trunk fitted with the door in less than ten seconds (without using any additional hardware). The top door also works perfectly. Each jamb that latches it is tensioned by a strong spring, and there's plenty of room to reach up and lift the latches. I saw a review here that mentioned using a knife or other tool to flip the latches, but that person must have very fat fingers as I'm an adult and have no problem using my fingers to flip to use the locks. . The door also seems secure enough when properly closed. In the attached video you can see both doors in action. Overall I am happy with my purchase and glad I didn't spend twice as much on a poor quality product from my local PetSmart. My cat has decided that she really enjoys napping in her new cozy "hideaway". In the meantime, I just hope her first trip to the vet doesn't completely put her off. :P
