Review on LG 38GL950G B Ultragear Monitor: 3840X1600P, 144Hz ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Refresh Rate, Height Adjustment, Wall Mountable, Anti-Glare Coating, IPS by Christopher Hill

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Expensive but best in class.

My previous panel was a 34 inch MSI 3440x1440 VA panel which was solid so I wasn't sure I would need this upgrade. Well, let me tell you: it was 100%. The additional 38-inch screen is immediately noticeable, as is the additional increase in resolution. This allows for overclocking to 175Hz, which is something you won't get to in most games for years. I have 5800x and 3080 and am far from upgrade limit. The colors are extraordinary and very popular. Really addicted to games and movies. It's not explicitly stated, but it supports both Gsync and Freesync, so whatever GPU brand you're working with is fine with you. Great response time, high quality panel, vibrant colors, high refresh rate, gsync, freesync, you name it. The only Achilles' heel of this panel is the HDR 400, which was not a selling point anyway, at least for me. The curve is also quite moderate. The Alienware 38-inch is the only real direct competitor for this guy, and LG has the better picture quality and feature set of the two. In fact LG makes panels for both and I'm sure they keep the best quality panels for their range. Alienware has a nicer stand and frame. as the best guarantee. However, I didn't think it was worth the compromises overall. Great panel that will last you for years. I can highly recommend it.
