Not great if your dog is small enough and smart/determined
I bought this gate after my small/medium sized dog (25lbs with a fat body) destroyed two wooden/plastic gates. I couldn't push the gate firmly to the wall, probably operator error, but I managed to secure it with metal clips. Three stars because of the cat flap. If your dog is smart, medium sized and determined enough, he will run through the small door; My dog survived the first day. The door has a spring loaded pin that keeps it closed. I don't know how she managed to open them without opposing thumbs, but she did it! I was able to fit a small padlock I had on the drawer to lock the pet door. I'll update if that works.
