Yes, they're cheap, but they do what they're designed to do. Will they stop damage in an accident. NO! Will they stop some idiot who likes to park near bumpers so he doesn't scratch your paint? YUP! I bought these for my 2014 Mercedes ML350 because someone with a Range Rover decided to park and clip their bumper to mine, scratching my paintwork. Rather than spend $1500 to repaint it and then redo it anyway (and I hate those ugly steel bumpers), I went the budget route. For people who say plastics can't be removed, I agree, but here's what I did: I'm clumsy and I know it, so I asked my husband (who works as a car upholsterer and does precision work all day) to to put them on For me. First he used a razor to make a small cut in the peeling plastic and then used the edge of the razor to lift the plastic so it could be easily peeled off. He then used his heat gun (a hair dryer can also get hot) to heat the glue for about 10 seconds before attaching the strips to the bumper. He said it makes the glue stickier. Haha, that makes sense. Then he used a hair dryer in the cold to blow on it for another 10 seconds. Voila. They have been worn and look great. If they later come loose from multiple car washes, I'm happy to buy more because they're cheap and they look good! You get what you pay for but they do their job.
