Review on ASUS Designo MX27UC Type C Monitor - Adaptive 50Hz, Flicker-Free, Blue Light, Frameless, HD, 4K Display by Cliff Schreiner

Stay away from this monitor.

Oh I wish I could read customer reviews before buying an ASUS MX27UC display. What a waste of precious time and treasure in troubleshooting when the error cannot be fixed! The great thing about this monitor is its beautiful design and when working, both brightness and clarity are amazing. What's not so good is that mine didn't work reliably, crashing into the test pattern without warning and causing background ripple. Requires system shutdown/reboot to restart. I was in denial at first, checked and double checked the DP port connections, replaced the original cable with a new one, reinstalled net.framework version 3.5 and drivers, and even paid out of pocket to test my new Dell i7 (it worked great ), all for free. In the end the monitor was sent back for a refund after realizing the issues were not on my side. If this dam thing actually worked, it would be amazing gear for the money. Unfortunately, until I looked at some of the reviews, I still thought mine was a one-off and expected to purchase an exact replacement. As many have put it more bluntly than I, the ASUS MX27UC appears to be a deeply flawed device that's just one step away from the ash heap. 01/20/2020.
