Review on 📚 Amazon Basics Drawing Pad 9x12: High-Quality 80 lb./130 gsm, 24 Sheets—Perfect for Art Projects by Heather Shaw

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good quality for painting with graphite

I'm not an artist and I don't even draw often, but I do enjoy drawing once in a while. When I draw, I like to use good paper. I've used Strathmore, Canson, Arteza, and even Melissa & Doug sketchbooks. To me none of them stand out clearly, although the M&D is definitely of lower but acceptable quality. The Revain Basics Drawing Notebook is a good weight and brightness with a very durable back cover. It competes with any pads I've used before and depending on the price is probably good value. 9 x 12 is a lot larger than I usually draw, but great if you want to showcase your work. Perforated sheets also tear easily and cleanly. I had no problems with the Pentel Ain Click or Tombow Mono Zero eraser. I only use graphite so I can't comment on how other materials work with this paper.

Pros
  • Dimensions: 22.9 x 30.5 cm; 24 sheets in a notebook; Weight 80lbs/130gsm
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
