Works great and easy to clean

I still like this panini. Ordered it for our Armt Store which is currently based in Afghanistan. We needed something to diversify our ordinary and bland menu. I was thinking of a toaster but then I stumbled across this little guy and we were all amazed at his capabilities. It arrived a couple of weeks ago (about a week after ordering) and we've put it to good use. Makes great fried cheese sandwiches and regular ham or turkey sandwiches that get a little gourmet (as gourmet as we can get in Afghanistan) when we toast them on this guy. We even roast spam here and he does it with no problems. It's non-stick and easy to clean, even after a night of hard grilled cheese where some people overdo the cheese and it spreads all over the grill. There should be a protective cover where the handle and grate is because I've found the cheese that goes in there to be hard to peel off, but a bit of grease helps and I have no problem getting a thin knife to help to knock out. It has to be toggled on and off when it's off, but I think it's a safety feature on devices like the Foreman grill. This product also seems to be quite durable and this was a first place issue because I didn't know if the product could stand up to a group of tough army guys. Let's see if the heavy usage fee is worth our money. If you are hesitant to buy something this cheap or something more expensive, give this one a try. Its chrome lid and sturdy handle give it a sleek look and don't take up much counter space. Update 05/18/2011: Well it's been about 4.5 months now and this little one is still doing great in our store. . The guys have been using it 24/7 in our two 12 hour shifts and we haven't had any problems so far. We love it! It has raised morale in our business more than I could have ever hoped for and made dining/snacks more enjoyable than before. We might even give this little fella a bounty before we leave him in a few weeks! :)
