After using the Sony HT-XT100 soundbar for three years (it was also reviewed on the market three years ago - the model was also very successful) - we decided to replace it with something more modern, read a lot about Dolby Atmos, but after listening to the consultant about that in soundbars this is mostly a props, and a normal Atmos should be built into the ceiling - we decided to sacrifice it. After analyzing the options and reading a lot of positive reviews on the market, we purchased this yamaha with delivery. Sony completely suited us in terms of sound, there were not enough HDMI inputs and there was no connection to the Internet and there was not enough bass - this became the motive for buying, I can say that we just never compared the sound - in Yamaha, the sound gives the effect of the environment (I had to dig deeper with settings and with a microphone, but it was worth the time), great bass compared to our first soundbar, music also sounds better on it than on xt100, hdmi inputs are now enough to connect a satellite receiver, ps4 and apple tv. It is probably pointless to compare soundbars of different price categories, but in our case, with a significant overpayment, there is also a significant difference in sound. Probably using five separate speakers will sound even better, but yamaha virtualized those 5 speakers 100 percent by plugging it all into one panel.
