I am a beginner in pyrography. I wanted to do something for my husband's father's first day and asked a friend of Woodburn's to do something for him. She never answered me and I liked the design so much that I bought it. This is great for beginners. I love all templates. I don't know much about wood burning but I was able to make nice projects. This year I'm going to Woodburn for all the Christmas presents. Just a note, it's going to be hot. And I mean HOT. Even with gloves on, my fingers get fried. On a big project I had to shut down and pause because my fingers were fried. I see on the internet people suggesting trying a cork shield and I think I'll try that with other gloves. It worked great and I love all the templates that came with it and the embellishments to practice on. I would recommend it to anyone just starting out in pyrography. It was easy to use. As easy as drawing with a pencil.
