I am a woman who prides myself on making and fixing things myself. This is my first time using a code reader. It came in a nice sturdy case which was a nice bonus. I intentionally skipped reading the instructions to see how user friendly it is. Find it very easy to use. The menu is very convenient. I started with an automatic VIN reader. This failed on my 2016 Nissan Murano causing me to enter the VIN manually. Then he found out the year and model of my car. The device then prompted me and said that the machine must be running for the device to read the codes. I started the car and ran the VIN lookup again and this time it read the VIN. That's what happens when you don't read the instructions lol. Scanned quickly and found no faults (engine, ABS, airbag and gearbox). My car has a check engine light that the auto parts store read to me, but they didn't reset it (it was a code for "minor emissions leak or gas cap problem"). I wanted it deleted so I can see if it comes back (a warning but they won't delete it). I then had the device read the engine codes. That's over too. Before attempting to clear the code, I decided to update the software on the device and see if it could read the check engine code. Unfortunately, I found out from the manufacturer that there is only one download file for updating the reader, for Windows PCs, not for MacOS. We have a Mac family, but I dug up a very old Windows laptop and was able to update the firmware. I ran the diagnostics again, all went well although the verification is still on. I was able to clear the Check Engine alert in my car. If it comes back I'll run the diagnostics again and see if it can spot it. What can be improved? Please add MacOS support.
