It's not a lens that can be attached to a high-resolution camera like the Nikon D810 for pointing or .

The focal length range of this lens is ideal for a travel lens. It has a slight distortion. It's sharp for a consumer-grade zoom lens. However, this is not a lens that can be attached to a high-resolution camera like the Nikon D810 to show the camera or do a big zoom. I took this lens with me on a recent holiday with a 50mm f1.4 prime lens for my D810 and the shots captured with the 50mm lens are much sharper from corner to corner. If you're just viewing images on a computer screen or limiting the zoom to 'normal' sizes it really doesn't make much of a difference and the price of this lens is a bargain in my opinion. Update: After gaining more experience with this lens over two vacations, I'm more impressed than when I started. On my full frame D810 it's pretty sharp around 90% of the frame. Sharpness falls off at the outer edges and corners, but in the center and most of the frame, sharpness is comparable to my prime lenses: 50mm f1.4D, 35mm f2.0D and 24mm f2.8D. When mounted on a DX camera, the edges and corners are cropped, and if you choose an aspect ratio of 5/4 for your images, which is equivalent to an 8x10 enlargement, the same thing happens. The only thing this lens lacks is anti-vibration, but for that you'll have to buy a lens that's significantly larger and more expensive. I find this lens to be one of the best deals out there. I don't know if I can upload a full size image. nope Look at the first image to see how much the second image is enlarged. By the way, this is a hand shot.
