Review on Xiaomi Pad 5 (2021), Global, 6 GB/128 GB, Wi-Fi, pearl white by Michael Baek ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A completely ordinary product, nothing remarkable.

My main complaint is about the work of HDR in films. Films in dark scenes turn into a solid dark spot with the HW decoder. With a SW decoder, the picture is good, but the tablet itself cannot pull out a movie in 2k resolution with this decoder (which is logical). The problem is discussed in the English-speaking Internet, but for some reason we have a minimum of information about this. Setting the preset "street" in styles helps a little, but it's still very bad. The photo will show a comparison of different tablets and different decoders within the Xiaomi Pad 5. They write that the problem is massive for IPS with HDR and the 11th android. Perhaps in the 12th android (which should be released very soon for this tablet), everything will be fine. Some even unsubscribed that they really fixed it, but I didn’t find any photos or screenshots . If the ate really fixes this jamb, then I’ll edit the review. As for watching "light" films - everything is fine. Not much worse than AMOLED displays. In games, it seems more or less everything . I don’t play myself, but sometimes I test my applications / games - the performance is excellent. 120Hz is a huge plus. They fix "dark" films, then I'm ready to put 5 stars.

It works very badly with third-party styluses, so if you want to draw on it, then immediately get a "native stylus"
