The product is very close to the original. I tried removing the back glass pieces from the phone prior to installation but the results weren't very good. I used a small heat gun to loosen the glue and I can tell you it was a disaster. Portions are not removed as easily as you might think of a YouTube video. I ended up damaging the front glass from extreme heat or pressure trying to remove the old rear glass pieces. The adhesive used on the back glass is incredibly strong. The phone still works, but I had my doubts throughout the nearly three-hour process, not to mention the microscopic pieces of broken glass scattered throughout my workspace. If you wish to do this, simply tape it over the broken glass and save yourself heartache.
