I bought this to keep my two 10 month old cats in the back seat on car trips. They kept crying as I kept them in the carrier in the car and it was driving me crazy so I was hoping giving them more space would help with that and it did! There was very little crying, and for the most part it kept her back secure. I have a small sedan but still went for the large size knowing they would try to squeeze through the sides. I put some pillows in the space between the seat and the doors and above the headrest and it worked great. One of my cats is very adventurous and was trying to get over it so next time I use it I just put tape in it to scare her away. All in all I only had a cat on my lap once in that 8 hours because the pads were moving and he was pushing his way through. So next time I just fixed them better. It was so easy to assemble and the mesh is strong. Very happy with this product.
