Review on Joe Rocket Atomic Men's Motorcycle Riding Boot/Shoe: Ultimate Performance and Style by Dev Gotoda

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The bottom strap and sole are the highlights of this shoe/boot.

I've only used it a few times and while I'm happy with it, I'm a little worried. The outsole consists of the main sole and two smaller outsole parts (heel and toe). The two smaller pieces are glued to the main piece, however the two front smaller soles (toe area) have an area that is not glued (not sure if this was intentional or accidental). When you press on it, you'll feel the rebound until it touches the inside of the shoe. So I am afraid that the forefoot will come loose on its own or if it gets caught on the footpeg it could come loose. Another thing is the bottom buckle (the one with the aluminum latch). The main part is made of plastic. So the buckle wears out as it opens and closes, and I fear that at some point it will no longer hold the latch in place, causing the buckle to open on its own (now showing some wear). Finally, the main sole is made of some sort of soft rubber. Again, I've used it several times and the sole shows some signs of wear. The shoe itself is durable and offers good protection, but the Achilles tendon of this shoe will be the sole and bottom strap. I bought them for a really good price so if they last a little over a year I'm reasonably happy

Pros
  • practical thing
Cons
  • pisses me off
