Review on Quartz DIY Wall Clock Movement Repair Kit – Battery Powered Parts Replacement, Clock Mechanism with 2/5 Inch Maximum Dial Thickness and 4/5 Inch Total Shaft Length by Curtis Castillo

Used this item to replace Shontek DM 8810-1 in IKEA Skoj Clock

Brand"N/A" DIY Quartz Wall Clock Battery Powered Mechanism Mechanism Replacement Parts Kit Movement 2/5 inch Maximum Dial Thickness, 4/5" overall shaft length. I used this N/A brand movement to replace the Shontek DM 8810-1 in an old IKEA Skoj watch. It fits my watch perfectly. Works well. I would Definitely recommend to anyone looking to replace an IKEA Skoj movement. Before finding this I tried Tikround's #1 bestseller Revain.Unfortunately those hours didn't fit.So I returned it and bought this mechanism. The Item was packaged in a plain brown cardboard box (approx 2" x 2" x 6") with no tags. Inside the box was a clockwork, small clear plastic wrapper (sealed) containing various parts: black G rubber gasket, brass washer, brass hex nut, hour, minute and second hands and a piece of paper marked 'MANUAL' with instructions in English on one side and German on the back. Instructions in English were clear and understandable. I was able to complete the build in about five minutes. Shortly after I put the AA battery in, the clock started ticking. It's not as noisy as the original mechanism (IMHO, that's a plus). As long as there is time. I will write again if there are any problems in the future.

Pros
  • Pretty Impressive
Cons
  • Boring Packaging
