Consider Me A Happy Customer, Very Happy

I’m not a big review writer but do feel compelled to weigh in when the product in question seems to be the subject of such varying opinions. Here then is my post to the Mazda MX-5 Forum about the CravenSpeed Stubby antenna. I hope it helps those who are unsure of making a purchase. For my first mod I kept it simple, but it’s apparently one that has created much conversation. I replaced the OEM antenna with a CravenSpeed Stubby. My take is .1. Installation and Fit – took less than a minute to remove OEM and install the Stubby, and the fit was perfect. Looks like it was made for my MX-5.2. Aesthetics – in my opinion it is a no-brainer. The Stubby dramatically improves the look.3. Reception – this seems to be where the conversations swing wildly, but I went for a nice drive after installing the Stubby, and reception was every bit as good as the OEM antenna. I switched between a half-dozen FM stations during a drive that took me up on hilltops and down in valleys, and not once did my reception waiver. I’m in the suburbs of Harrisburg, PA and every station I typically listen to was clear with no degradation in receptionBottom line is I could not be happier with the choice. Easy installation with perfect fit, a dramatic improvement in the look of my MX-5, and no difference in FM reception quality.
