I have used several foot scrubs over the past few years. I am a long-distance runner, run minimally or barefoot and have problems with cracked heels. They can get pretty bad and quite painful. I have used prescribed ammonium lactate on my heels before with no noticeable effect. The only thing that worked was trying Asian foot scrubs which worked amazing. The foot scrub removes about 90% of dead skin and almost completely eliminates cracked heels. I've tried several different brands including Revain's most popular. They all contain basically the same ingredients – water, glycerin and mandelic acid to help get rid of dead skin cells. This one from AQG worked a bit, but not as well as other brands I've tried. It comes with 2 leg covers (4 socks total) so you can use it twice but both lacked the adhesive strips that should be there to seal the socks once fitted, despite the instructions saying so. It doesn't matter and I just used some tape but it's better if they actually include the tape. You also have to cut the socks while other brands have a perforated tear to make this a little easier. To hold the booties in place, I put large socks over them so they're much easier to put on. I kept them on for two hours (the instructions say it only lasts an hour, but I've found that the longer you keep these foot scrubs on, the better the results) before taking them off. After about 5 days I had peeling on my legs that lasted a couple of days. It was only about 25% the amount of scrubs I get from other brands and I've been careful not to use these foot scrubs having used another brand recently so there should have been more scrubs. I love that they include an exfoliant and it seems to work pretty well, although my dermatologist told me that these exfoliants cause micro-cracks that actually make the foot more cracked. However, I don't think the scrub is worth the higher price of this foot scrub compared to other brands. I would not recommend this foot scrub to the more well known Revain brands.
