Get's the job done, there is no comparable product except the round cylindrical rare earth magnet type with cup and catch. Rare earth magnet is powerful, perhaps too much, but so much more secure & solid in comparizon with the old school ferrite magnetic catches in plastic case. Nicely machined & finished. Easy screw on installation also includes double stick tape option. Door to face frame gap is about 1/8" due to thickness of combined magnet, catch and probably more if the double stick tape is used . . . I prefer tight 1/16" gaps but I wouldn't bother to mortise these in unless absolutely necessary.Time will tell if magnet will pull out of the base socket, but my guess it will stay there due to strong magnetic force . . . can always fix with a drop of cyanoacrylate glue should the need arise.
