deposit back! Works well with Bissell Green Machine

I have a 10 year old Jack Russell Poodle mix, the love of my life. He's also the bane of my existence at times lol - especially when he decides he needs to "mark" my new apartment by pissing on it when I'm at work. I took him to the vet - he's fine - he's just a stinker. . And I mean literally - my apartment stunk to high heaven. Soaking up as much as I could with paper towels, I vacuumed and used my little green biscuit with a standard pet carpet cleaning solution, but it didn't cut and I was pretty sure I'd missed the stains. I got frustrated and started looking for professional carpet cleaners, thinking I couldn't do it myself. I bought 3 products from Nature's Miracle - Urine Destroyer, Deodorant Spray and Carpet Shampoo. And I also bought a nifty little black light flashlight so I could see the spots I really needed to hit. I used it on a fairly thick plush carpet and was concerned about over saturation but also read a bunch of tips from other reviews. as instructed, and here's what worked for me: First, make sure a large amount of urine is soaked up with towels. Vacuum the carpet. Shake bottles before use! Once I forgot to do it and it was in vain - enzymes need a little jitter to get activated. control the pouring - the spout just pours the product out at an alarming rate and seems a little wasteful) but I've soaked the stains. I then covered any stains with damp towels - I've used both real cloth towels and paper towels (several stacked together to make it slightly thicker than 1 coat) and both seemed to work well. This was the advice on the back of one of the products I believe. I left it for 12 hours as directed. Mind you - it smells pretty strong. Open windows are your friend. The odor annihilator spray also helped a lot here. I just sprayed it like a feverish breeze and it made it a lot more bearable. After 12 hours I took all the towels and threw them away straight away - seriously, just trust me I'll throw them away. I was hoping to save the cloth towels to use a second time in my bedroom (I used them in the living room first) but they seem to absorb all the urine smell from the cleaner so they're gross - thinking about it, I get bad. and it's been about 2 months lol. Then I threw away my little green Bissell carpet cleaner - it's amazing - I used to have a giant vertical carpet cleaner and this tiny one is much more efficient and easier to use. Also on Revain and I highly recommend it. I added Nature's Miracle Carpet Shampoo to the cleaning line on the tank and then added water - I used lukewarm as I couldn't get a clear idea of the right temperature online as cold seemed good for removing pet odor but many tips said warmer was better for enzyme activation. I was aiming for something in between - mainly hand wash temperature. Here's the lesson I learned. I was so nervous about carpet waterlogging that I didn't use much water from the spray bottle - just vacuumed up what was already in the carpet, sprayed a bit, vacuumed up until it was dry, and on to the next. Job. That does not work. I had to come back later and do it properly - suck up all the exterminator's piss, then squirt the shit off the carpet - that would be too much - then do more. Then suck it all up. Then spray again and soak again. If you have a small car like I do, you may need to fill up the tank and empty the dirty tank - this is normal. Once upon a time, the water I sucked up looked almost exactly the same in a dirty tank as it does in a clean one (obviously not identical - but it was clearly a "cleaner") - I braced myself. I let everything air dry - luckily it didn't get very wet after I vacuumed up all the water. And sprayed again with a spray to get rid of the smell. All in all, this whole procedure took several days and made my nose and back a bit tired. But when I left that apartment there were no stains, no smell of dog accidents, and some of those stains definitely stayed because there were stains that I completely missed and only found because of a little black light flashlight I bought. I was nervous that the smell would come back after I moved out but when I called about my deposit they said I would get it back in full. The carpet was new when I moved into the room. So if they had to replace it I assume it would fall out of my pocket so obviously a natural wonder came into play. before I moved in so I could treat a few blemishes from my old man - he had an allergic reaction to a new drug and had a couple of seizures and while he was on the mend he had a couple of accidents at our new place which I want to gather strength before my family arrives in a few weeks. I have no doubt that this will work great and these will be the products I have in my arsenal as a pet parent when Davey enters his senior years.
