I first bought a pair of these shoes in 2007. They lasted 7-8 years before the leather inlays came loose. I reattached them with floor tape (extremely sticky) but had to replace them in late 2017. Within 3 months of receiving the new slippers, the leather insole of one shoe and the other partially detached. The difference between the two pairs lies in the lower construction: the manufacturer saves money by only making the insole partially out of leather and using a cheaper foam insert. But for some reason the price stayed the same. One solution would be to wear socks to keep the insoles from sticking to my feet, but then I would need a size up, and besides, that negates wearing slippers for the time being. Too bad, because the external construction of both pairs turned out to be very solid.
