It seems like the original

, I received a pair of these for my 2014 RAV4 this afternoon. They look exactly like the originals I'm replacing (both blown). The OEM replacement at this price is wonderful. I am attaching a picture of the nameplate information on both this replacement bulb and the original bulb. There is almost no difference. The part number on the originals was HB3 U 2005 L+. The number of these replacements is HB3 U 2005 LL. All other descriptive nomenclature is identical. It's raining in Houston today so I can't install it, but if I run into any problems I'll update this review. If you don't understand how this bulb can serve as a bright light. - High beam and low intensity daytime running lights, it made my head spin. On the RAV4, these single-filament bulbs serve as both high beam and daytime running lights. You talk about how a filament can be very bright and low intensity at the same time, or at least that's what I was wondering. Answer: When running as a chaser, both filaments are connected in series, so the supply voltage is shared between the two lamps, making the light they produce dimmer (each filament runs at half the supply voltage). The high beam is not connected in series - the entire supply voltage is fed to one thread, which makes it much brighter. Of course, this means that if one headlight burns out, the circuit will open and both headlights will go out. It's a weird way for me to do it, but it is what it is. Incidentally, this also means that if the high beam works, only the other bulb needs to be replaced.
