Review on Sony - C400 Wireless Behind-Neck In Ear Headphone White (WIC400/W) by Virot Wrintharawet ᠌

Don't buy it, it's not what it should be.

Replacement for a Sony sbh80 headset that died after four years of use. I would buy it again if it were still available. Fantastic sound quality; I was able to use two devices at once (a phone and a PC); it was so light that I often forgot I was wearing it. There were no hiccups in my conversation as I moved around the flat because to the superior soundproofing and range. The quality of this model greatly dissatisfied me. Wireless headphones are a great feature, and this model may be a good choice for someone who only wants to use it for that. Normal sound quality is preserved, and it syncs up with your phone and PC with minimal fuss. However, it cannot be used in any way as a headset. First of all, my phone conversation partner has been becoming silent for half a second about once every ten seconds, and they only occasionally report being able to hear me as well. Second, whenever my shirt collar brushes up against the hoop of my microphone-equipped headset, I can clearly hear the clicks and clacks of the microphone. It seems that your interlocutor can also hear it. I didn't try it out in public since I figure the constant barrage of distractions would make it difficult to carry on a conversation. Finally, when used as a computer headset, the microphone's sound is relayed to the headphones so loudly that nothing but your own voice can be heard. Therefore, as a stopgap, I configured Skype on the laptop to use the built-in laptop microphone and route the audio to the headphones via the headset. Nevertheless, this is not the intended use of the headset, as I am unable to walk away from the computer while using it. This has nothing to do with shaky hands; in Windows, the microphone's ability to send audio to headphones is turned off; rather, the design of the microphone makes it so that as soon as it is activated, it begins sending audio to the headphones. This issue occurs both on the phone and the computer, though its severity varies. Overall, it was a bad product, and I returned it to the retailer after two days of futile attempts at adaptation. Okay, I'll check out Ali and see what's there.

Pros
  • the norm in terms of volume
Cons
  • doesn't work as a headset (see comment) Plastic is inexpensive and tolerable in most situations.
