Yes, it works on black hair. I like it. His dad was too dubious to go to the barber when COVID hit everything, and then hurricanes down south. So I went ahead and bought them. My son hates getting his hair combed so I had to laugh. Cuts slowly but well enough! My son was calm. The cars were pretty quiet. Should be great until I let him go to the barber. It came in a cheap version with everything else, but it's all useful.
