Deducting one star for bad battery compartment

Nice light weight little device although it feels a little flimsy compared to others. I don't think it will break easily though. As far as I can tell, this is accurate (based on known targets near my house) but I didn't record any of them to see if they were within 5 meters or 2 meters. Neither really bothers me as I only use it for target shooting. It can quickly and easily hit targets from the size of my target holder to at least 100 yards, which is why I bought it. I couldn't vary anymore. Using standard 9 volt batteries (like your smoke alarm) is a definite advantage. On top of that, it's a nice interface and not superfluous nonsense like a tilt or shot calculator. Now the back. The battery compartment is difficult to open. For a device that you don't use regularly and that drains the battery for months, I would expect the battery compartment to be easy to open. Instead, it uses a coin-shaped screw with a very long thread, which is awkward to use and requires a lot of force to open. A simple sliding door would be better, like a TV remote control or something. Since I use it about once a week for up to three weeks, I prefer to simply remove the battery rather than let it slowly drain. Also, the battery connector is pretty cheap and flimsy, almost like a Radio-Shack electronics kit. Overall, the battery connection could have been much better. But that's a minor complaint. All in all it does what it says on the tin and is priced in the range (hyuck hyuck) of what I would expect from a basic device. The advantages it has outweigh its minor disadvantages.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Slightly torn
