The new computer is now ready for use.

My wife received her 2018 Macbook Pro and found that it has no HDMI or USB-A ports, only two USB-C ports. USB-C might be a popular new connector, but it's not compatible with its flash drives or external backup storage. A hub was the answer, but we waited to find one that was reasonably priced, connected to a computer without hanging from a cord, was the right color, and had all the bells and whistles we needed. It was the answer. When my wife saw how small it was and how the color matched her space gray Macbook perfectly, she was blown away. However, I continued to make sure everything was working. First, she used the USB-C port to charge her computer. We don't currently have anything else that uses the USB-C connector. We used the HDMI port to connect the computer to the TV and stream movies. Successfully used flash drives on USB-A ports, as well as a card reader. At first we didn't think the card reader was working properly since we didn't see the icon on the desktop. However, we received a warning when removing the card, so the computer recognized it. My wife called Apple to find out how to find the contents of the card as she is new to Apple computers. She definitely succeeded. - In the end, it works, and it's attractive and unobtrusive enough that my wife kept the hub connected to her computer.
