I almost always wear small pants (well, unless they're from random Amazon companies), for reference I wear a size 4 in Lulu Lemon and a Size 2 on Athleta -- when I bought these shorts I wanted them to be roomy to be lounge/sleepwear (never in public) so I wanted the waistband to be very loose and I knew about those , which they recommended are already pretty small so I decided to go two sizes up to a large and they YET don't have *that* loose waistband (yes the rest is) as I wish I had one a lot Bought big. So if I buy another pair I will.
