When I first bought it I was hoping that they would be separate necklaces. But after seeing how well they are together I didn't mind that they were one. From time to time I have to untangle them but it's not too much of a hassle at all. In the beginning I tried removing it every time I showered to prevent it from changing color or irritating my chest. But it kept it's color and hasn't made my chest red or blotchy!
