Worth the money. The only downside is that the climb is not big. And there's nothing wrong with the tool, it just didn't live up to my expectations a bit since I'm used to using a 5x more expensive building level. If you want to read the markings on the ruler from any distance, just make sure the graduations and numbers on the ruler are BIG. But I did a large landscaping project with several gently sloping terraces with lots of complex drainage patterns that needed to be pretty damn accurate to flow properly, and I did it all with this device. The neighbors thought I was crazy until I was done.
