Purchased May 8, 2012. Today is April 2, 2014. It has been less than two years since this scale died on me. There is a 5 year guarantee on it. I contacted Health-o-meter. They asked me some questions and asked me to check some things. After that they said they also think it is defective and I can send it under warranty. BUT they want me to pay for the S&H to ship it and have it shipped back to me even though it's defective. I would NOT buy this scale if you want something that will last at least 2 years.
