are not 1/2" NPT as stated in the literature (they are .832" but do not taper). Also NPSM 1/2" (non-tapered) won't fit either, so it's too big and offset from the rim. The supplied sieve also doesn't want to sit, so to speak, but it does. metric fit (21mm) - or be prepared to "cut" new threads in the plastic by pressing something on it (not recommended). Plan to use a flexible hose and a barbed adapter. The included barbs fit well. The product loses two stars for misinformation, waste of time and money looking for misplaced fittings. Maybe the threads are patented to discourage people from using hard fittings? I'll update the review as I make it more complete; I hope this will improve his average rating. The item was well packaged and looked solid and professional. I have a small accumulator that I can add to the line (optional) to balance the low pressure power if needed. A fixed amount of water is dispensed at a time without pressure; it is due to an electrical timer (as a running time window); as well as a low pressure water start timer (feeding two zones) to have three backup safeguards against overwatering or overclocking. It pumps about 2-4 minutes a day through 3/4" to 1/2" fittings into a 1/4" OD drip line and waters a large container garden, growing herbs and vegetables.
