BOILED Linseed Oil - Excellent finish, adds wood grain - Highly recommend

This is a great product. I've been looking for cooked flaxseed oil for a long time, but could only find it in oversized jars, a gallon or more, or in overpriced chemically blended jars. This oil works great, has a very low [and tolerable] odor, and the price was right. I first used it on my hammer's wooden handle and it restored the beauty of the wood. I have had this hammer for almost 20 years and it is very useful. The wood was in good condition but obviously used and old. After applying about 10-15 coats of this oil it started looking almost new again. of 20 planned) and it has already started to show a nice finish on the ax handle. It was already a nice and smooth piece of wood but after applying this oil it really brought out the texture of the wood and created a very nice shine too. I'm excited to see how it will look after the work is complete. The only thing I would advise other users is to be careful how they dispose of rags, gloves, etc. used for application. It is certainly not dangerous in itself, but in some cases it has been known to become unstable and can catch fire catch/explode if you dispose carelessly, crumple up oil-soaked rags in the garbage without a break or without washing, but it's very easy to avoid all these problems. I personally use a disposable glove - sometimes in combination with a paper towel or small rag. When I'm done, I rinse my gloves and rags with warm water and Palmolive or Dawn dish soap before throwing them in the trash. Dawn is best for oil/lube, but Palmolive is good for that too. I did it every day and had absolutely no problems. By cleaning in this way, you ensure safety and minimize the entry of odors into your rubbish bag/bin. I have never had such problems. All in all I would definitely recommend this product for any wood treatment you use around the home. That's great.
