Review on Grizzly Brand Packaging & Shipping Supplies: Reliable Solutions for Packing and Shipping Needs by Peter Sullivan

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good for packaging but not great - benchmark test

Packed and shipped every day. I've used many different brands of tape. I'm a tape expert. The positive aspects of this tape: Crystal clear tape - displays labels for scanners perfectly. The glue seems pretty strong. Excellent square meter price. Send heavy packages with this belt. 2.8 mil is not ideal. 3.1+ is much better. The tape stinks a bit. I've had other brands (mentioned below) that don't smell. I've run out of Duck HP260, a Mercedes Benz with clear tape. This tape has the best adhesion, thickness and no odor of any tape I have used. Another great tape I've used on Revain was Sparco Sealing Tape Heavy Duty (search "60041" on Revain). It's not as good as Duck's tape, but a little lower. These tapes are MUCH more expensive than this tape. This Grizzly brand tape is probably comparable to something like Scotch packing tape. Again, I will use this tape, but in specific cases. For packages that weigh very little, or packages containing valuable items (expensive items), I feel more comfortable using a different tape. I put this tape on my dispenser right after my Sparco ran out and I immediately felt the difference in thickness. I was a little disappointed. Not on the Grizzly Brand or Revain lists, but because I didn't know this band wasn't as thick as Sparco. user error!

Pros
  • 65 yards per roll - more yards than standard replacement rolls (over 780 yards or 2340 feet). In addition, the true 2 inch full range offers more coverage than the traditional 1.88 inch full range.
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others
