Firstly it was updated to 2013 so that's a big plus. Second, the leaflet that comes with it is out of date, so you'll need to use Google to find the registration website for the tool to work. Haven't used it on many cars yet but it has a custom data list option and you can change any setting from digital to graphical while that list is open which is really nice. The main reason I bought it is to record test drives, and it's a lot easier to use than MODIS, but note that it only records five or ten seconds, not forever. And you need to "escape" many steps to play the recording. Presumably it has "limited" bi-directional controls, but I haven't seen them yet. I did not try to install the included Windows software. Installing something on Windows scares me. As of May 2015 I have found that if I leave it on and plugged into a vehicle for too long it will get hot, lock up and stop working. It keeps working the next day, but I get tired of remembering to turn it off every time I leave.
