Update: In October the lights started flickering and stopped burning on various settings. Very frustrating. I ended up throwing them away because I couldn't get them to stop blinking. They light up continuously and flash or go out for 2 hours. No matter how I played with the mode finders, they never stayed in a permanent "ON" position. Was looking for lights for our deck railing and found these solar lights which meant no extensions! They come with ground stakes, but we didn't need them. Just wrap them around the railing, it couldn't be easier. There weren't any instructions in the package so I had to play around with the modes to get it working consistently, but there are options for flicker, fast, slow etc. They're light sensitive so they won't turn on until it gets dark outside. but for my purposes it is ok.
