Feels like sandpaper

I liked the Sandwash products that Home Depot used to sell and bought this product to try and replicate the finish. The finish looks ok but feels like sandpaper. If you touch it with bare skin, it will tear through like sandpaper. It feels like sandpaper. coarse sandpaper.
